The Pray 2010 Conference in Brisbane from 7-10 July will be a rare opportunity indeed. Speakers from around Australia and beyond who have experience in teaching and practicing in a wide variety of prayer forms will be available. Topics include understanding and praying the Mass more deeply, meditation prayer, praying with young children, praying as a family, prayer for married couples, prayer of silence, praying with the bible, music and prayer and the list goes on! The list of all speakers and conference workshops is on display at both churches and the Brady Meeting Room. Have a look and be impressed.
Many can be overwhelmed by the choices, so to further explain this wonderful conference and give details to those who wish to attend, there is a Pray 2010 Discussion Meeting at St Monica’s Centre on Monday 22 March at 10am and repeated that night at 7pm. Everyone is welcome especially if you are thinking about attending either alone or with others.

This year as well, the Australian Bishops have made available the Lectio Divina – a way of Praying the scriptures of Lent & Holy Week. These wonderful books are available at the Church.. Please take one, if you think you will use it. They are to enhance your prayer life – not your book shelf! They explain the readings and explain a way of praying and meditating on the great Lenten scriptures.
Also available is an internet based scripture reflection provided by the Bishops. You can participate in your own time over each week of Lent. Just visit www.thereflection.vividas.com
